As part of the Thames Gateway programme, Medway Council created a development organisation called Medway Renaissance. This organisation was to lead an ambitious regeneration plan for the Medway towns with multiple projects delivering housing, leisure and business developments.
The council wanted to ensure that the regeneration was going to deliver the changes that were of most importance to the local population. Medway Renaissance undertook a variety of engagement exercises both around specific projects and also focussing on the area as a whole.
The Community Consultation Dashboard® was used as the central point to gather the feedback from the various engagement exercises and provide insight to the needs and desires of the local population.
The results were displayed via postcode sector which was supported by ONS data to give additional context to the comments being returned to Medway Renaissance.
The use of the Community Consultation Dashboard® enabled Medway Renaissance to use more narrative style questions and answers to allow respondents to express their most important desires and needs without the author bias of traditional survey techniques.
